Science Week at Holy Family


Literacy Lift Off

Literacy Lift Off is taking place in 1st class this term. Children are working at 5 different stations. The focus is on sounds, writing, reading. This year we have added a new station – using our tablets – where children listen to stories on the tablet. Thanks to 6th class for helping out.


Internet Safety Talk Today at Holy Family

Children from 3rd to 6th class took part in an internet safety talk today. A large number of the children are active on the internet when at home so the talk was to help them stay safe online. Thanks to Lurtell for facilitating the talk.


Parent/Teacher Meetings. 2017/2018

Parent Teacher Meetings will take place on 22nd and 23rd of November. School closes at 2.45 on these days. Appointments sent home on Monday 13th November.


Third Class visits Tumble Jungle in Ballina.

3rd class visited Tumble Jungle in Ballina as a special treat before the Halloween break. The children had 2 hours of activities and lots of fun.


Maths Week at Holy Family

5th class were using their maths eyes as part of Maths Week. Here are some of the designs and problems they thought up! There will be more on display in the school

This calendar is in keeping with the Department of Education Standardised School Year. ‘Hatch 4 Schools’ First Class

There’s great excitement this week in Ms. Conlon’s First Class with the arrival of their ‘Hatch 4 Schools’ incubator. The incubator has seven eggs which are due to hatch over the next few days! After hatching, the chicks will be transferred into the brooding area, which has a warm plate in it to keep them warm. The children have the chick’s food and water
