Out and about in Nature!

3rd and 4th class set out on an exploration of nature in their local area of Tubbercurry last Wednesday....We followed the Maiden river where it begins and travels underground through the town starting at the spring near our school. After a quick stop at the well in the centre of the town, we then passed by the old Railway line before reaching the Nature Forest Trail! The trail meanders along the Maiden River, part of the River Moy System!  

Dandering slowly down through Ash and Oak Corridor in the forest, we observed many signs of Autumn with the colours, leaves and acorns that had fallen from the deciduous trees! Unfortunately, we didn't spot any squirrels! 

We enjoyed the nature walk and we look forward to revisiting the forest during the other seasons!
