Local Elections - Education
16th May 2024
Local election posters are going up all around the country.
You will, no doubt, have many people calling to your door looking for a vote.
Please ask them about their promises for education.
Our school is funded by money from the Department of Education. This money has to cover heating, electricity, water bills, bins, painting and decorataing, books and copies, photocopying, paper purchases, school activities, cleaning of the school, bin collection. This is only part of the list of our expenses. If you find it hard to pay your bills it is also very challenging in our school.
The capitation money in primary schools is 116 Euro less, per pupil, than in secondary schools. We are hoping extra money will be prioritised for primary schools.
