Literacy Lift Off

Literacy Lift Off is taking place in 1st class this term. Children are working at 5 different stations. The focus is on sounds, writing, reading. This year we have added a new station – using our tablets – where children listen to stories on the tablet. Thanks to 6th class for helping out.

Internet Safety Talk Today at Holy Family

Children from 3rd to 6th class took part in an internet safety talk today. A large number of the children are active on the internet when at home so the talk was to help them stay safe online. Thanks to Lurtell for facilitating the talk.

Athletics at Holy Family

Athletics have started with Dermot McDermot on Mondays. Children are working on speed, agility and movement. Children should wear school track suits on Mondays.

Oklahoma in St. Brigid’s Hall on Tuesday 21st November

Children from 1st to 6th class will be going to see the dress rehearsal of Oklahoma in St Brigids Hall on Tuesday 21st November. This is a lovely opportunity to see some of our Past Pupils on stage.

Lurtell are visiting Holy Family NS to give an Internet Safety Talk to children in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes on Wednesday November 15th. Please talk to your child about the day

Parent/Teacher Meetings. 2017/2018

Parent Teacher Meetings will take place on 22nd and 23rd of November. School closes at 2.45 on these days. Appointments sent home on Monday 13th November.

Third Class visits Tumble Jungle in Ballina.

3rd class visited Tumble Jungle in Ballina as a special treat before the Halloween break. The children had 2 hours of activities and lots of fun.

Fifth Class : Maths Probability Challenges

5th class doing some Maths Week Probability Challenges in maths. The children used tally sheets to record how often they threw numbers with dice. Then they recorded the results when they threw two dice. The most frequent answer was 7. We think this is because we had more ways to make 7. The least frequent was 1. Do you know why?
